Description
General information:
The Health, Safety & Environment service is the certified internal occupational health service of the University of Groningen. This service advises the university on safety, health and welfare at work.
The health component is provided by three medical officers, two social workers, a nurse, a doctors assistant and a company physiotherapist.
Absence counseling is an important part of the job, but it also includes preventive tasks. These include for example health checks and ergonomic workplace research. Important themes are mental workload, healthy aging and long-term employability. In addition, the company does not only focus on the individual employee, but also translates signals from these individual contacts to the group or company level if possible. This way, trends can be discovered. Is there evidence that certain problems in certain groups are common and what action can be taken?
Offers for students:
For students who want to get acquainted with the field of occupational medicine it is possible to follow a one day internship. More possibilities can be discussed on this day.
