What is Panacea?

The Medical Faculty Association Panacea (M.F.V. Panacea) is the largest medical faculty association in the Netherlands and also one of the largest study associations in Groningen. 99% of the medical students in Groningen are members of the M.F.V. Panacea. This speaks for itself, given the many benefits of a membership.

In 1987 the history of the M.F.V. Panacea begins. On 20th of August, the statutes were signed with the main aim of "promoting good communication between and representing the interests of students enrolled for the study of medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen". The first ideology has been expanded and besides promoting the interests the following has been added: "making the study of Medicine in Groningen special by making it more relevant, fun and easier. A good balance between professionalism and conviviality is the key in this."

The M.F.V. Panacea is known for its diverse range of activities. The M.F.V. Panacea organizes a musical biannually, a grand gala and a trip abroad every year and various cultural and sport activities. That the M.F.V. Panacea is a study association, is visible in its involvement in education and in the organization of study-associated activities. More medicine-related events are the Medical Career Day, the Symposium and the many workshops and courses, such as first aid, blood sampling, stitching and the job application workshops. It is awesome to participate in all these activities, and it is even more fun to organize them yourself! The M.F.V. Panacea has over thirty committees with more than 250 active members.

The M.F.V. Panacea has something to offer for everyone. Whether you want a big discount on your books (and later on your instruments); you like to participate in various activities or you like to be an active member and organize things or write for the faculty magazine, Panacea has it all! If you are curious about the activities we organize, you can look at the calendar.
