Description
The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology values training and supervising students and thus we are interested in making contact with students. Therefore we gladly support the career page of Panacea.

General information
The department O&G has approximately 250 employees, including staff, gynaecologists in training, fellows, nurses, midwives and other staff. The department is divided into four sections: Gynaecology, Gynaecologic oncology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine.

Patient care takes place in the clinic, on the ward, in delivery rooms and in operating rooms. In addition to patient care we  focus on scientific research and education.

Offer for students
Voucher education: deepening education in specific topics within O&G is possible by the use of your voucher. For more information go to www.panacea.nl/voucher. The needs and wishes of the students are central, therefore the education can be adapted to the concerning students. Students who are interested in this can contact the education coordinator (contact info stated below).

Bachelor phase: O&G is characterized by a variety of topics, ranging from menstrual cycle and associated complaints, from pregnancy to oncology, from subfertility to contraception. The patient population ranges from young to old, from preconception to the last phase of life. These topics are largely covered in the second year of the bachelor phase.

Master phase: the O&G internship (co-schap) falls within the block about the cycle of life, in the first year of the master. During the internship students are introduced to pathology in this field, patient interviews and doing a physical examination.

Residency (semi-arts): this internship is designed to make the transition to working as a doctor and therefore much attention is paid to independently seeing and treating patients. Additionally this internship is meant to have a taste of the specialization one is leaning to, to support the final career choice. The website of ‘semi-arts stage’ shows the current available spots of O&G.

Research internship: all divisions of O&G are scientifically active. Specific key points are gynaecologic oncology and immunology, endometriosis, healthy aging of the pelvic floor, education and obstetric and reproductive medicine aspects of ‘Reproductive origins of adult health and disease (ROAHD)’. Within these key points multiple projects are possible for a research internship. Students who are interested in this can contact the education coordinator (contact info stated below).
